The Smetana Trio
is today one of the foremost Czech ensembles who can be seen frequently on
leading concert stages both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
Among their numerous recordings are works by Smetana, Suk and Novák,
which received the prestigious award - the French Diapason and Le Mode de la
musique, also chosen by the BBC Music Magazine as its chamber music record
of the month in August 2005. Another Smetana Trio recording, this time works
by Dvorak, was again voted by the BBC Music Magazine the record of the month
in September 2006 and later received the BBC Music Magazine Award for 2007
and also the prestigious Diapason D’Or.

Nahrávka přináší nejvýznamnější koncerty pro klavírní trio s orchestrem: známé a rozsáhlé Beethovenovo trio z roku 1807 a subtilnější, avšak vysoce virtuózní Grand Rondeau velmi nadaného a svými vrstevníky oceňovaného českého skladatele a klavíristy J.
